Getting ready for your knee replacement
Watch this short introduction to understand how your personalised preparation plan is created — then complete a brief assessment tailored to you.
How your preparation plan is created
Everyone receives general preparation advice. Some patients also receive additional personalised guidance based on their answers and existing clinical information.
- Step 1
We review your existing information
We combine information already available from your GP record, current medications, recent blood test results and clinical observations.
- Step 2
You answer a few questions
You'll answer a short series of questions about your health to identify anything that may require attention before surgery.
- Step 3
We create your personalised preparation plan
Your answers are combined with your existing clinical information to identify issues that need to be addressed before surgery to avoid delays.
- Step 4
The pre-assessment team reviews the information
Your information will be reviewed by the pre-assessment team, who will contact you for further assessment, optimisation or investigations if these are required before surgery.
Ready to begin?
When you're ready, start your pre-operative assessment. Your personalised plan will be created once this is complete.
